How to apply
Make Contact - We understand that you are faced with many questions regarding the proper travel experience for your child and are here to answer your questions. We may be reached at 808-937-2707, via info@youthenrichmentproject.org or by filling out our online application.
Learn More ( Brainstorm Session ) - At this point it has been decided to move forward and an application has been submitted. During this phase, we get to know the potential student and the student/family gets to know us. To help facilitate this process, we ask that students provide an academic reference (teacher, coach, tutor, etc....) to speak on their behalf. We honor the decision your family is making and take time to make certain that our expeditions are a proper fit for your needs and expectations.
Save Your Spot - Once it has been decided that the Youth Enrichment Project is right place for your travel adventure, we take care of the necessary paperwork and request a $1000 deposit for flight arrangements. Yes, we make all travel arrangements.
Flight Details - It's true, we make all travel arrangements as a way to streamline the coordination of student arrivals and to take the extra stress off of the families. This is why we require such a substantial deposit to follow submitted applications. We have come to learn this simplifies orientation day and is a nice way to start working for you right away. We schedule flights to arrive at Kona International Airport ( KOA ) before 5pm the day of orientation and greet all students upon arrival to the Hawaiian Islands, whether they are flying straight to the Big Island or catching a connecting flight from Oahu. If it is difficult to book a flight for the first day of the expedition, we will schedule flights to arrive one day early, at no additional cost.
Travel Packets - Once the flight arrangements have been made, we will send out your itinerary and gear list along with other information pertaining to your specific expedition.
Family Element - We are a family and know what it is like to be away from those you love. To help make this adventure a family affair we have created an In The Loop section which showcases expedition specific photo journals that are updated every 2-3 days. Additionally, youth will have access to phones and the Internet at designated times throughout the expedition. Parents and guardians are encouraged to call our offices at any time with questions or concerns and each expedition leader is outfitted with a satellite phone to allow 24/7 communication with our headquarters.
